Live bands, Barbecues and Beers, Oh My! D.C. 2014 Summer Events

With barbeques, beer and little clothing (PRO NUDITY!), summer can arguably be considered the greatest time of the year. Unfortunately for many of us attempting to go somewhere in life, sweet summertime can now be considered as stressful summertime with the slave-like seasonal workload, internships and summer classes. Although spontaneous is my middle name, I have learned that organized events that everyone is prepared for results in an awesome and memorable time for everyone! ...Although, last week when I randomly jumped on a trolley in Boston full of superhero-costumed MIT graduates, that was a great time too. Nevertheless, here is a way to attempt to be an adult and plan your fun in advance. Also, all these cool events include alcohol so you don’t have to worry about shoving a flask down your pants.

Bourbon Bash: Saturday, June 21st @ Dupont Circle Bars

This event features a 1-ounce tasting of select premium bourbons at eight different venues. Additionally, each of these venues, located throughout Dupont Circle, will be offering food and beer specials. Bar hopping and bourbon – need I say more?!

Capital Fringe Festival: July 10th-27th – located throughout the city

From burlesque to ballet, this drinking fest includes 145 live performances throughout the DC area. Each of these acts are known to be pretty unconventional and some even downright bizarre. TrIpPyYyYyyy

American Beer Classic: Saturday, July 12th @ RFK Stadium

If day drinking is your favorite pastime like it is mine, then this is a go-to event. Mingle among other beer lovers on a soccer stadium while enjoying freshly brewed beer. This event offers a day drinking session (WOOOO) and also an evening session (STILL WOOOOING).

Brew at the Zoo: Thursday, July 17th @ Smithsonian National Zoo

Beer sampling from 60 different craft and microbreweries located on zoo grounds. Food trucks will also be on site for drunken munchies. PANDAS AND BEER <3 <3 <3

Crab & Beer Festival: Saturday, August 16th @ Waterfront, National Harbor, Maryland

Fifty freakin’ thousand crabs will be brought to this festival for unlimited amounts of seafood binging. Roam around and fill your 14oz mug with over 50 beers and wine throughout the day… If you ever stop eating… Which I wont.
